Registration for 2026 events will go live on Black Pug approximately 1 month before the event date: Chief Seattle Council – Lake Trails March Merit Badge Mini-Fair,
Spring into Summer Merit Badge Fair
Registration is now expected to go live on Friday morning, June 5, 2026 at https://scoutingevent.com/609-LakeTrailsMeritBadgeClinics . Please pardon that our registration page is under construction. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we may run into unexpected registration challenges with this new format where all Lake Trails Merit Badge events can be found in one link.
Scouts have the option to sign up for one or two 90-min or one 180-min merit badges sessions. The 90-min sessions include: American Business, Disabilities Awareness, Family Life, Genealogy, Citizenship in the Community. The 180-min sessions include: Citizenship in Society, Citizenship in the World, Digital Technology, Dog Care, Personal Management, and Photography.
To help Scouts plan and decide if a session is for them, we have an early draft of Class Expectations available for viewing here.
Please note that we are not taking walk-ins during this event due to the space limitations.
Scouts are encouraged to donate to St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church’s food drive for Hopelink! They’re looking for summer foods for kids:
- Granola bars
- Fruit snacks
- Cereal/oatmeal cups
- Fruit cups
- Jello/pudding cups
- Small bags of: trail mix, chips, pretzels, Chex mix, cookies, popcorn
- Microwaveable Mac & Cheese
- Microwaveable Chef Boyardee
Let’s join the fight against hunger; bring those food items when you arrive to check in!
Fall for Merit Badges Mini-Fair
This is still heavily in pre-planning stages, and we have no information to share until early August 2026 at the earliest. We are looking for volunteers for this Sept 19th event, so if you think you may be interested, please let Florence at ftbaluyotmbc@gmail.com know!
Lake Trails Merit Badge Clinics Are Returning!
Stay tuned as we bring back our monthly clinics at Bear Creek United Methodist Church in Woodinville that focus on Eagle-required merit badges! We’re doing a soft restart in June for an anticipated full return in Fall 2026!
Registration opens for our Sat, June 13, 2026 Family Life Merit Badge Clinic on Sat, May 30, 2026 at 9:00AM here: https://scoutingevent.com/609
Our Merit Badge Mini-Fairs will be continuing in 2027 as one per spring and one per fall and focus on general interest merit badges.
How to Successfully Earn a Merit Badge at our Events
To get the most out of our Merit Badge Events, please become familiar with the merit badge requirements and be ready to discuss with the counselor. If the counselor sends out a list of pre-reqs for you to do ahead of time, try your best to complete them before the clinic, workshop, or fair. In many cases, there are requirements that cannot be done in a clinic, workshop, or fair setting. You can either bring documentation or notes showing previous work to show the counselor at the end of the session. Otherwise, Scouts should expect to get a partial at the end, and the counselor will have further advice on how to get the rest of the requirements signed off. You may schedule follow up meetings with the counselor at your convenience.
Looking for Merit Badge Counselor Volunteers
Our Lake Trails Merit Badge Clinics, Workshops, and Fairs are made possible thanks to the enthusiasm and generosity of our amazing Merit Badge Counselors. Please consider signing up to be a Merit Badge Counselor and sharing your expertise with curious and motivated Scouts that are eager to learn! Please see this Chief Seattle Council page for more info: https://scoutingseattle.org/advancement/advancement-merit-badge-counselor/
If you’re already signed up as a counselor and would like to help lead a session at one of our clinics, workshops, and/or fairs, please reach out to Florence at ftbaluyotmbc@gmail.com . We’d love to have you join our team!
