Stock Donations

Making a stock donation to support Chief Seattle Council enables us to support Cub Scout Day Camps, Summer Camps, community service projects, adult leader training, youth recruitment initiatives, and the essential management that ensures these opportunities are accessible to every young person in our region.

Scouting helps our children grow to become the best version of themselves. They learn skills and values for a lifetime. Support Scouting by making a charitable gift using donations from your charitable gift in Stock.

A Tax-Smart Way to Support Scouting

What Is a Qualified Charitable Distribution?

A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) allows individuals 70 or older to give directly from their IRA to charity while potentially lowering their taxable income.

Benefits of a QCD

  • Reduce taxable income
  • Counts toward Required Minimum Dististributions (RMDs)
  • Allows giving without itemizing deductions
  • Supports Scouting programs directly

Who Can Use a QCD?

Anyone 70 or older with Traditional or Rollover IRA, or those 73+ who must take RMDs.

How to Make a QCD

  1. Contact your IRA custodian.
  2. Request a Qualified Charitable Distribution.
  3. Have them send the gift directly to:
