Baloo & IOLS Training Offered

Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Skills (IOLS) & Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Education (BALOO) IOLS/BALOO are required trying for camping. BALOO is a one-day training course for Cub Camping, IOLS is an overnight focused on older Scout skills. Both are excellent ways to provide the best experience possible for your unit. Introduced in 1931, The Silver Beaver Award is the council-level distinguished service award of the Boy Scouts of America. We ask you to think about the amazing volunteers that make a difference to youth in your Territory and nominate the registered Scouter who has made an impact on the lives of youth through service.

RETURN TO CAMP PIGOTT FOR Range and Target Activities for 2025!! These dates are scheduled, and the spring dates are ready for registration. Choose from Basic Rifle or Basic Shotgun or sign up for both. Youth can work on merit badges or gain skills and learn more about gun safety. Come as a unit or come on your own to work on your skills, plan your dates now and we’ll let you know when registration is ready. Click here to register now.

Unit Renewal is NOW!

There are still many units who have not completed renewal (recharter) your unit for 2025. This means that soon some of the online processes like membership and advancement may become unavailable for use. To complete the process follow the steps below.
· 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿:
o Missing adults?
o Youth Protection Training must be current through the end of February or it will stop unit renewal.
o Adults not renewing or retaking Youth Protection must be removed. § Notify Membership (membership@seattlebsa.org) by December 1st to do this – the unit cannot do it themselves.
o Adults in the correct positions?
o Have any youth aged out?

Holiday Hours Observed

The Chief Seattle Council hours will be changing over the holiday, this is in all locations and properties. The Seattle Trading Post closure is December 19th – 20th, and the Yakima Office Trading Post inventory closure will be January 2nd & 3rd. Find more information here.
