Trail to Eagle Guide

Trail to Eagle by Kirk Albrecht

The Eagle Scout Project and Eagle Board of Review

The path to Eagle includes a service project and a board of review. To meet these 2 requirements, you will need to coordinate with a member of the Mountain Territory Advancement Committee.

Please use the email addresses below for:

  1. Submitting the Eagle Scout Project Workbook for review/signature.
  • Note: the proposal section must bear signatures from the Unit Leader, Committee and Beneficiary before submitting to the Council/District.
  1. Receiving letters of recommendation from your chosen references.
  2. Send to:

Submitting the Eagle Rank Application

After you have completed Requirements 1-6, and fully completed your Eagle Rank Application, submit your application and Statement of Ambitions and Life Purpose to the Council at membership@seattlebsa.org.

Note the Council’s Eagle Rank Application page contains complete instructions and additional options.

Are you aware that Eagle applicants now need to submit a new form?

The Eagle Scout Rank Application gets revised from time to time (you should always download the latest version before submitting) and the current version does not ask for parent contact information.
To address this gap, Chief Seattle is asking that applicants submit this form.

Eagle applicants should also be aware that requirement 2 (the reference letter section) is not clear on who reference letters should come from. Here are the current guidelines (reference 2025 Guide to Advancement 9.0.1.3)

References: Must list names and contact information for four people who are willing to serve as references for the Eagle candidate. These may be Scout leaders, teachers, employers, coaches, other Scouts, etc. References do not need to be 21 or older. Parents and other relatives are strongly discouraged from serving as references. The current unit leader and committee chair are not eligible to serve as references; their signature on the application is their endorsement. See also Section 9.0.1.7.
